DIABETOLOGY
The diabetes clinic is aimed in particular at diabetic patients or those at risk, for a correct assessment of the disease and a behavioral and pharmacological therapeutic approach.
Both patients with already diagnosed diabetes mellitus and patients at risk (for example, due to a family history ) can access the diabetes consultation: the diabetologist defines the disease and proposes a comprehensive therapeutic approach.
The clinic also offers support in terms of nutritional education , to help you follow the most appropriate diet for your case, supported by indications for personalized physical therapy.
The diabetes clinic is also a point of reference for patients who have been treated for diabetes for years and are having trouble achieving proper metabolic control.
We also provide prevention, diagnosis, and treatment for diabetic foot patients and—in conjunction with the Wound Care clinic—treatment of lower limb wounds, including venous, arterial, mixed, infected, vasculitic, post-traumatic, and post-actinic skin ulcers.
The diabetic person is treated with a multidisciplinary approach made possible by the presence of multiple specialists within POLISMedica: diabetologist , angiologist and vascular surgeon , cardiologist , orthopedist , urologist .
Collaboration with the ophthalmologist for diabetic retinopathy , as well as with the endocrinologist and the Vulnology clinic, is also invaluable.
